Amla pickle | Gooseberry pickle with Colavita extra virgin olive oil
Amla or gooseberry has innumerable benefits. Amla pickle is an easy and delicious way of adding it to your diet and when made in cold-pressed Colavita extra virgin olive oil, it becomes even healthier. enjoy with your roti or rice dish or just eat it straight from the jar.
INGREDIENTS
250 gm amla
5 chillis
1/4 cup oil
1 pinch asafoetida/ heeng
1 tsp saunf/ aniseed
1/2 tsp kalonji
1tsp mustard seed powder
1 tsp coriander seed powder
1 tsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp Haldi powder
2 tsp salt
Steps
Steam amla for about 5 minutes till every it opens up,
cool and separate every piece.
Heat oil and add a pinch of asafoetida, saunf, kalonji, Haldi , add cut green chillis and amla pieces and cook for a minute.
add mustard seed powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, salt.
cover and cook for 1 minute and switch of the gas.
when amla is cool, store in a glass jar and refrigerate.
